Terms & Refund Policy
Effective July 6, 2026 · Applies to the ShotMagic Chrome extension and shotmagic.app
The short version: ShotMagic is free to use for unlimited screenshot OCR. Pro is an optional one-time purchase of $9.99 that unlocks batch OCR, exports, and larger history. Your license key is verified on your device, works offline, and never expires. If Pro doesn't work for you, you can get a full refund within 14 days.
What you're buying
ShotMagic Pro is a one-time purchase — not a subscription. It unlocks the Pro features listed on our pricing page. Payment grants you a personal license key that activates Pro on your own devices. The key is verified locally with a cryptographic signature; activation makes no network request and does not expire.
Your license
- You get a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use ShotMagic Pro for your own personal or business use.
- The license key is for you. Please don't resell it, publish it, or share it publicly.
- The free tier remains available to everyone, with unlimited screenshot OCR, no account, and no payment.
- ShotMagic is provided "as is." Because all OCR runs on your device, results depend on the image and your hardware.
Who you're paying
Checkout and billing are handled by Dodo Payments, which acts as the merchant of record for ShotMagic. That means Dodo processes your payment, handles applicable taxes, and issues your receipt and invoice. The price shown at checkout — $9.99 — is the total you pay; any applicable tax is included. Your card details are entered on Dodo's secure checkout and are never seen or stored by us.
Refund policy
We want you to be happy with Pro. If it doesn't work as described on your device, you're entitled to a full refund within 14 days of purchase — just ask, no hard feelings. If you bought Pro while the extension was still awaiting Chrome Web Store approval, the 14-day window starts on the day the extension becomes installable, not the day you paid. To request a refund:
- Email [email protected] with your purchase email or order details — we'll process the refund promptly.
- You can view your orders, invoices, and license key anytime in the buyer portal, signed in with your purchase email.
Refunds are returned to your original payment method by Dodo Payments. Because the free tier lets you try screenshot OCR before buying, refunds after 14 days are considered case by case.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change, the new version will be posted at this address with an updated effective date. Material changes will not apply retroactively to a purchase you've already made.
